Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) is a Pontifical Foundation of the Catholic Church, supporting the Catholic faithful and other Christians where they are persecuted, oppressed or in pastoral need.
At Holy Name we support ACN as Universities’ Catholic Church and Chaplaincy in Manchester. The Holy Name has a dedicated prayer space in one of the side chapels, residing the icon of Madonna and the Child – ‘The Mother of Tenderness’. The installation of the icon was marked by an overnight vigil service on 18th April 2015. Our events By organizing and hosting ACN events, we hope to raise awareness of the persecuted Christians around the world, to tell their stories of faith and courage and to call for prayer and justice on their behalf. |
